A 100 point score means the chair and the company has achieved total excellence. The 5 categories are Warranty & Customer Service, Comfort/Ergonomics, Ease of Use, Features and Massage Therapy. The discipline of a systematic approach provides for balance help those seriously considering a massage chair. The Omega Montage Elite is the subject of this review. This luxury shiatsu massage chair is in the $4,000 to $5,000 range.

Warranty & Customer Service: It is important that the manufacturer stand behind its product. A good gage of the company’s confidence is its warranty coverage and duration. Omega gives covers 5 years on the frame, 3 years on parts, 3 years labor, 1 year shipping and 90 days in-home service. Omega is well above other manufacturers in this category with its parts and labor. Omega is, however, lower for the in-home service which some have increased to 1 year in-home. Customer service is competent and turnaround time on service is good. Our Rating in this category is 18.

Comfort & Ergonomics: Comfort and ergonomics are important design characteristic with a shiatsu massage chair. Omega designed the Montage Elite for comfort and relaxation. This shiatsu lounger is wheel chair accessible accommodating those that may have trouble getting in and out of the chair. This remote is fairly intuitive. The wireless remote is a distilled version of the main remote and is simple in design and allows for virtually all the controls of the massage. The only significant exception is the air pressure on the lower body can only be adjusted from the main remote. Like most main remotes, a side panel contains many manual controls including manual massages and adjustments to the lower body air system. The wireless remote is compact, convenient and now a must have. The Montage Elite is a 19 in Ease of Use.

Key Features: The most prominent features of the Omega Montage Elite are the Lower Body Traction and Footflex Reflexology foot massage. Omega built in a traction function to gently stretch out your lower back, hips, knees and ankles. The footrest is raised horizontally; the airside activates to hold your ankles and then lowers successively to 3 positions. As the footrest lowers your muscles and tendons are stretched throughout the lower body. The Footflex reflexology uses airbags to hold and gently squeeze your foot at the arch and the heel at your reflexology points. Omega has brought the lower body air massages up to par with the back massage technology. Omega has a thorough array of massage for the back, neck, shoulders and base of the skull. The Montage Elite is a 19 in Key Features.

Massage Therapy: The Montage Elite has both automatic and manual massage settings. Omega incorporates 5 full body automatic courses, 4 manual massage courses, and 4 massage speed settings for a total combination of 64 manual massage courses. Massage Chair Review: Sanyo SR-1000 Massage Recliner

Posted on November 13th, 2008
by Steve Esquire

Sanyo has developed a full line of massage chairs. The entry level Sanyo massage chair is their model SR 1000K. The SR-1000K has some very unique features. It also comes with some features that Sanyo has in some of its luxury models. We will point out some of the more important features and functions and touch on the warranty of the SR1000K massage chair by Sanyo.

The warranty coverage is similar to an insurance policy. You get insurance so that you are not affected by a catastrophe. You want sufficient warranty coverage to protect you from defects in components or workmanship of the massage chair. The warranty for this massage recliner is from Sanyo. Sanyo gives the following coverage for the SR-1000K recliner: 3 years for the roller mechanism, 1 year labor, 1 year parts and 1 year in home service. The Sanyo warranty is the same for all their models. However, for this price range, the warranty is very good.

Sanyo has designed two auto programs which run the full massage chair with the touch of a button. These 2 programs are named Relax and Recovery. As their name implies, the types of massage treatment is geared around the name. Recovery is used after strenuous activity. Relax is more subtle and looks to induce full body relaxation and tranquility of the mind.

On the advanced electronics side of the equation, Sanyo has borrowed some technology used to make its lie detectors. The technology is used in its Stiffness Detector. The Stiffness Detector is used to locate areas of tension build up or muscle stiffness. The chair takes readings from your finger and then targets those areas for relief.

There are manual massage methods also built into the programming of the massage chair. These manual massages use one type of technique once selected. However, you can compliment the manual massage technique with 2 variations of leg stretches. Just select the type of stretch you would like and the SR 1000 will add it as part of the manual program as it is running.

One of the very unique functions of the massage chair is the leg rest massage mechanism. The leg rest can target the calves and also the feet. It has a special flip down portion that is used to massage the feet. It can be flipped up and hidden from view when not in use. You do have to position your feet to flip the portion down. The massage is pretty invigorating and can be relieving for the feet and calves.

The remote of the SR1000K is fairly well designed. You have to get used to the sequence of the commands. It is laid out well and not too hard to pick up with use. It uses gradients of lights to show the intensity which helps it be more intuitive to use and to read.

The SR-1000 massage chair has some very good features for an entry level massage chair. It contains some of the electronics from Sanyo’s high end chairs like the stiffness detector and the physical shape sensor. The warranty for this recliner is also good for this level of chair. The design is a little funky and unfortunately Sanyo located a power box on the side of the chair which takes away from its attractiveness. We also wished they had more than 2 automatic massage programs in the recliner. But, if you are looking for a solid massage chair with some fairly contemporary styling, the SR-1000K is a nice massage chair.

Choices In Bicycle Clothing

Match bicycle clothing, protective gear to style of riding and the terrain for enjoyable and successful riding.

Individual Choice In Biking Gear

While mountain bikers, road riders and others face different situations in their specific type of riding, there are similarities as well. Whether a mountain biker rides on the roughest, rockiest terrain or the smoothest paved bike paths in a state park, certain items of bicycle clothing, bike helmets and accessories are essential.

Each individual will make a choice as to the type of gear, color and exterior design, etc. usually based on the amount of money allotted for the sport. Some mountain bike riders who pedal only the sturdiest, heavily built bike over rough ground will take along spare bicycle parts. Others who ride on paved paths won’t need to give so much attention to breakdowns and repairs.

All riders, in any type of biking, should have a couple of good biking helmets, in addition to quality bicycle clothing, gloves, heart monitors, timers etc. Serious bike racers and those who tackle the most challenging mountain trails will probably need pads for the knees and elbows in addition to the best helmet that will fit the budget. Good equipment designed especially for safety and protection may be the difference between finishing the course and looking for assistance shortly after the start of the session.

Some mountain bike events and some road events require the rider to be active after the sun goes down. So the biker may need to invest in a helmet light, a bike light and so on. Tail lighting on the bike is also a must for these special events. It would be wise to discuss lighting and other safety options with an expert at the bike shop to make sure all the options are clear.

Quality Bike: The Cost Of Extras

Some who take on the roughest mountain bike terrain invest in heavy-duty bike wheels and tires, in addition to purchasing a bike with a very durable frame. Bent rims and a broken weld on the frame will stop a biker more quickly than almost anything else that can happen on the trail. It will probably be a good idea to take along a couple of extra durable, knobby tires for those trips over the roughest ground.

Tip: Some mountain bikers have started to insist on protective end caps for the handlebars, to protect the rider from injury during a fall. These items are most often found on straight or slightly curved bars, and are not usually a priority on the more gently curved racing bars. Only when all the proper equipment is in place should a mountain biker head to the open spaces.

What is the recovery period after liposuction?
Recovery time depends on the individual, but usually follows a general pattern. For the first few days, the patients take fairly strong pain medicine, usually a mild narcotic. During this time they generally stay at home, lying down or walking around. Patients cannot drive a car or operate machinery during this time. Near the one-week mark, when they are on milder medicine, they can start light exercise, such as treadmill or stationary bike, but not impact exercises like running or aerobics.Personal training and weight loss programs that rely on expensive exercise machines teach dependence and simply create another barrier to exercise. 5 Must Have Tips: Purchasing a Massage Chair at an Event

Posted on October 10th, 2008
by Steve Esquire

One great venue to actually try massage chairs our various events. You can find home shows, county fairs and other types of shows where massage chairs will be displayed. This is a great opportunity to try out some of the latest massage chairs. Although, this is a great venue, you do need to be careful of some vendors. Based on our customers who have purchased at shows and our own first hand look, We offer the following 5 tips on how to avoid key problem areas to find the best massage chair for you.

1. Massage Chair Components are Critical: Ask what country the main components are from. The critical components are the motors and the pc board. The motors should be made in Japan and the pc board should be from either Japan or Singapore. If the components are from other locations, then these components are of inferior quality and subject to short life spans or in other words - junk!

2. Check Out the Warranty: There are 2 things to check on the warranty. First, what is the coverage offered? Second, can the company cover the warranty? For a $3,000 massage chair, you should get 3 years parts, 3 years labor and minimum 90 days in home technician service. Now, the more important question, will they be around to make good on the warranty! You need to go with a reputable massage chair maker. One that has retail clients such as chain stores, etc. There are too many massage chair vendors that are just one man operations and may not be there down the road.

3. Our Massage Chair is made in Panasonic’s Factory: I saw a few salesmen claim that their massage chair comes from the same factory as Panasonic or some other name brand. Of course, there is no way for you to verify this independently. I am sure Panasonic wants their resources to be used to make knock off chairs that are then imported to compete in their main markets at rock bottom prices. Yeah, right, sure! If a salesperson tells you their chairs are made at the same factory as a name brand chair then I think you know the answer. Steer well clear!

4. Import Warehouse at Your Service: We saw a few small time massage chair operators. Ones that import one chair and sell them at home shows or county fairs. We are not saying to not buy from them. Every entrepreneur started somewhere! It is just you need to be careful, that you are buying for the long term and they may be selling for the short term. They usually have an arsenal of electronic gadgets and a massage chair. Basically, whatever you can stick in a container! They will offer you a low price and lots of features, but you need to be careful of how long the chair will work and if they will be around to fix it later!

5. This is The Deal of The Century: We all know the saying: If it’s too good to be true, then it probably is! This is certainly true when looking for a massage chair. The major manufacturers offer show specials, so you truly can get a good deal. Where you must be careful, are the small time vendors. They bring in a cheap chair loaded with features and sell it at ridiculously low prices. Avoid the temptation of short term gain for long term pain. You may be buying a long string of breakdowns, long waits for parts (if ever) and expensive technician service calls. Be careful of the deal of the century!

With the help of our customers, we offer you these nuggets of advice when shopping at a home show or county fair. There are many excellent massage chairs at these events. It is a great venue to take a break and try one. You will find the major manufacturers at these events and can take advantage of their special show price. Just make sure if you are seeing too good of a deal, then dig a little deeper to avoid some of the pitfalls we point out for you.

Relieving Back Pain: Medical Equipment You Can Have at Home

Posted on October 2nd, 2008
by Amy Nutt

Many people have back pain and these people are looking for ways to relieve and treat that back pain at home. There are many devices and medicines out there that states they’re just for back pain, but are they really worth it? Do they really work? The truth is that there are many products out there that work. What results is back pain that is significantly reduced, which improves the quality of life. If you suffer from back pain, then having your own physical therapy equipment or massage therapy equipment in your home can really make a difference in your life.

Products that help

Luckily, physical therapy supplies and massage therapy supplies are not just meant to be in the doctor’s office. They can be brought home.

Here are some products that you may be interested in if you’re looking to bring the physical therapy supplies home so that you can work on your back problems yourself:

The Total Back System by Motion may look like something you see in your local gym. Actually, some local gyms might have it to help those having back pain issues. What this product uses is inversion therapy. This helps alleviate pain, relieve stress, and also strengthens the back. Something about back pain is that it reduces core strength. When core strength is reduced, the back has to work harder to sustain itself. By strengthening your core muscles, you are taking stress off of your back and reducing pain.

The Total Back System is one of the best pieces of physical therapy equipment because it elongates the spine, which relieves pressure from discs and nerves. All it takes is a few minutes a day and it is easy to move around if you need to.

The GT-1000 Gravity Table is another piece of physical therapy equipment that also uses inversion therapy to strengthen your back. It is a gravity table that forces you to use the muscles in your back and core. You are stretched out so you achieve an elongated spine. In the meantime, you are moving in a number of positions, including upside down.

The BW-1 Bio-Stim Belt and TENS is one of those physical therapy supplies that many people enjoy. Actually, it is also used in the massage therapy world as massage therapy equipment when you can’t have a massage therapist right there by your side. This is because it is like having a massage therapist under your shirt. The belt fits snugly so that it is hardly seen. There are electrodes on the inside of the belt that are operated from a small box that attaches to the belt. That way you can go about your daily activities while receiving those muscle stimulating jolts. This loosens up the lower back muscles and relieves pain. The settings are adjustable, you get a certain degree of back support, and you don’t have to take pain killers to make the pain go away.

The ComforTrac Lumbar is a simple piece of equipment to use. By looking at it, it is hard to determine how exactly it will help the lumbar spine, but it does. It is portable, affordable, and easy to use. The surfaces are cushioned, it only takes the push of one button to release the pump, it is strong without the significant weight, the carriage turn is automatic after traction occurs, pumping is quite effortless, and relief is evident. This will work for virtually anyone with lower back pain.

VitalWrap Hot & Cold Compression Therapy System brings about the usual “hot and cold” treatment method for injuries. It uses what looks like a blender, but incorporates both hot and cold temperatures to relieve back pain. You can place ice and water inside the device to produce the cold compression that you need. However, the device can heat that ice and water to give you the hot compression that you need. Everything is in one place so that you do not have to use different compression methods. All of it is in one machine, which is important when a doctor gives orders to use both hot and cold compression to relieve pain and initiate healing.

Importance of these tools

These physical and massage therapy supplies are important to have in your home if you have back problems. Even if you don’t have problems now, something such as the VitalWrap Hot & Cold Compression Therapy System should be present in the home anyway because such a device is helpful on any type of muscle injury. Unfortunately, any type of muscle injury is hard to avoid, especially injuries to the back. The back tends to be the most injured part of a person’s body because of the day-to-day stress placed upon it. At least you can have the proper Physical therapy and massage therapy supplies in your home to take care of it when it occurs.

The Simple Way To Improving Your Golf Swing

Posted on September 27th, 2008
by James Whitley

Improving your golf swing would really be a very good attempt to play golf perfectly. The intention would itself keep you motivated and you can become a master in golf by simply abiding to the tips that are furnished below. Once you start following them, you would see the difference for yourself. Other than this, you need not worry about any other factor for improving your golf swing.

The position you take is a crucial factor that needs to be considered in golf. If you are in the process of improving your golf swing then instead of targeting the ball you will have to imagine a line between the targeted flag and the ball. Now place yourself in parallel to the line you imagined. If followed regularly, your swing style can be improved by following this basic tip.

Holding the golf club correctly is essential. Improving the golf swing would become very simple and easy if one of these three different methods is followed. The Vardon or Overlapping Grip, Interlocking Grip and the Baseball Grip are the three most commonly used methods.

The first method in golf which can be used in improving the golf swing is the Overlapping Grip. In this method the right little finger is placed in between the middle and the index finger of the left hand. In Interlocking Grip, the right little finger and the index finger on the left hand are locked together. In Baseball Grip all the fingers are rapped around the club. This method is suitable for children and people with small hands.

The grip you provide and the way you handle the club also means a lot. As a measure for improving your golf swing you should hold the club in the left hand so the shaft lies on top of all the fingers. In order to get natural grip in golf, the thumb can now be placed across all the fingers. This way, the right thumb would automatically point to you right shoulder.

Maintaining good posture is a very essential factor in golf. For improving your golf swing you will have to maintain a distance between both your legs which should be equal to your shoulder’s length. The foot, knee, hip and shoulder should all be parallel in order to maintain a good posture. The body’s upper part should as well lean a bit but the knee should be relaxed. This would help in getting good strength to kick the tee.

The finally talking about improving your golf swing, it should be made sure that your shoulders and the upper part of the body are rigid and do not move. Only the hands should be rotated and the body has to swing when the tee is kicked with the club. Regular practice would make the process simple and spontaneous.

The most essential point to be remembered in golf for improving your golf swing is that your shoulder and body’s upper part should never move. Movement in these areas would reduce the body’s balance and result in a bad shot. The uniqueness of golf is that just the arm has to be rotated and the rest of the body has just to rotate like a swing in the direction the arm moves. If keen attention is paid to these factors, no one can stop you from improving your golf swing.

An Ergonomic Office Chair Leaves You Feeling Fine

Posted on September 27th, 2008
by Fabian Toulouse

You can tell many things about a person by looking at his or her office. Is it neat and sterile? Piled high with work that needs attention? Covered with loose papers and supplies? Are there lots of personal items like pictures, interesting objects, and pencil holders made by small children at preschool? And what about the furniture? Is it common stuff from a big box store or has care been taken in its selection? Is the desk chair old, sleek, or well-upholstered? Does it look like it was made to last?

Offices should be comfortable and appointed with enough personal items to feel warm. After all, think about the the huge part of your life you spend in a desk chair! Who wants to spend a third of each day in a cold, sterile shoe box sitting in a torturous desk chair? The nicest thing you can do for yourself-or your employees, is outfit each desk with an ergonomic office chair. While that might sound like a terribly complicated name, it simply refers to any tool, item, or piece of furniture built with the human body in mind; it is the science of producing things that are perfect for human use.

It is not really a 21st century concept. Men have always tinkered, improving on the old. There is written testimony, in fact, that the ancient Greeks used the principals of ergonomics to better their workplaces and tools!

In terms of an office chair, ergonomic design used an understanding of the human body to create seating that far surpasses old-fashioned desk chairs. An ergonomic chair is better to sit in for long periods of time, can be quickly adjusted in multiple ways to suit various users, is aesthetically pleasing, and provides excellent support for the back and neck.

The difference between an ergonomic office chair and a regular office chair is most telling at the end of the day. Those in traditional chairs rise precariously to go home with barely enough feeling in their legs to walk to the door. They trudge painfully home, looking forward to some Advil and an early bedtime. Those with ergonomic chairs, however, are ready to have some fun!

Elliptical Machine Buyer’s Guide for Fitness Equipment

Posted on September 23rd, 2008
by Lindelwa Maseko

Elliptical machine reviews are packed with details about the superb weight loss cardio workouts the trainers provide. If you are gearing up for some thigh-toning aerobic conditioning, getting one of these fat-burning exercise partners is an excellent place to start. However, if you see one of these strange-looking gizmo’s and equate it with some kind of torture tool, you can’t be blamed! Exercise equipment in general, and elliptical machines in particular, are evolving so rapidly that it is almost impossible to keep up with all the latest innovations.

If you decide that this is just the thing to get you into that sexy, skin-tight pair of jeans, make sure that you test the different brands and models thoroughly. There simply is no other way to discover the perfect training partner for you. If the elliptical machine doesn’t feel stable and puts up too much of a racket, go to the next model on your list.

Here are some questions you should ask the sales person.

1. What type of drive system does it have? The least expensive options usually come with front drive systems and articulating foot pedals. Without the pedals that adapt to your motion with angle changes, this type of trainer will be very uncomfortable and could even lead to injuries or pain. Front drive system models have generally shown themselves to be reliable and don’t demand too much in terms of maintenance. Never purchase front drive elliptical exercise equipment without articulating foot pedals.

2. How noisy is it during operation? If the noise level is too high, it will just become irritating and may eventually prevent you from exercising. If you want to use a television or a CD player with some of the best workout music as distractions while training, you have to make sure that the sound won’t be drowned out by noise emanating from your training machine. In many instances a low sound level may be an indication of better quality. Take all of this into account when making your buying decision.

3. How robust is the frame? Here it is a toss-up between lighter portability and heavier durability. Make sure that the base frame isn’t too compact, as this will affect the elliptical motion if you are on the tall side.

4. How many programs are included? A variety of programs will motivate you to stick to your weight loss cardio workout regimen. It also adds interest and introduces an element of freshness every time you set a new challenge. The programs can focus on fat-burning exercise and weight loss, your heart, hill climbing, fitness tests and a diverse range of other options. In most instances the trainer will adjust the settings automatically according to your choice of program.
