How many teens are in the program?
Each year, we invite 45 students throughout southeastern Wisconsin to be part of the Teen Health Crew.The Children’s Library will have five times more space, 18 computers, 200% increase in collection size, a flexible storytime area with stepped seating, group study area, a variety of seating sizes, child-sized restrooms and a nursing/changing area. The Children’s Library will also feature an outdoor courtyard and garden with stepped storytime space and activity area. A unique teen-oriented space will be situated on the third floor of the new library overlooking the redwood is a serious mood disorder that can take the joy from a child’s life. It is normal for a child to be moody or sad from time to time. You can expect these feelings after the death of a pet or a move to a new city. But if these feelings last for weeks or months, they may be a sign of depression.

How often should teens be tested?
We recommend that teens be tested at least once a month. That is why our program is set up to send parents multiple kits. To avoid becoming predictable and to help eliminate teen temptations to indulge between tests, we encourage parents to “mix it up” when it comes to picking the specific dates to administer their tests. In some families, you can damage relationships by simply voting Republican. or Democrat, by rooting for the Cubs. or Yankees. The “silent treatment” can go on for years.Again, each school will have their own visitation policies. Often visits are used as rewards for good behavior.The National Strength and Conditioning Association issued a position statement on pre-adolescent resistive training in 1996.

What substances do teens abuse?
Teens may try a variety of substances, including cigarettes, alcohol, household chemicals (inhalants), prescription and nonprescription medicines, and illegal drugs. The most common illegal drug that teens use is marijuana.Teenagers like attention. They also like to have extra time to spend with friends, talk on the telephone, go places and use the car. You can motivate teens by having them earn future privileges, such as money for new clothes or special activities (movies, concerts, etc.).

Are teens allowed to go home for a visit?
Again, each school will have their own visitation policies. Often visits are used as rewards for good behavior.Teens use alcohol and other drugs for many reasons. They may do it because they want to fit in with friends or certain groups. They may also take a drug or drink alcohol because they like the way it makes them feel. Or they may believe that it makes them more grown up. Teens tend to try new things and take risks, and they may take drugs or drink alcohol because it seems exciting.We recommend that teens be tested at least once a month.
